What kind of person commissions her own birthday presents? A person like me, I admit.
I asked pal Cammy ( @cammylopez) if she would make me a Bones vid using one of my favorite songs, “We Need Each Other”.
The song is written by a band called Sanctus Real, and I think you would really like the song. To me, it expresses the basic human need we all share–the need for connection. I think the story of BONES reflects that human need, not just on the B&B level, but throughout the entire series, through most all of the characters. They aren’t always perfect, but what matters, as Booth said…is that they try.
The bass player for SR is a guy my sister graduated from high school with, and he is a close family friend from many years of going to church together and a few family vacations. Whenever Dan (which is his name, and here’s a link to HIS blog) is in town, we always catch up. All of the guys in the band are very cool and very honest and real both on stage and face to face when they visit our home or when we hang out on their tour bus. My brother sometimes goes on tour with them as their roadie, and he can attest that they are the real deal.
A little side note: You may have seen a World News special about the lead singer of this band and his family, the Hammitts. Here’s a link to their blog. They are just wonderful, wonderful people.
But this song, We Need Each Other, is one of my faves of theirs. It’s from the album of the same name, and I love that album. And The Face of Love and Pieces of a Real Heart…well, they are all just very good. Check them out on iTunes if you feel inclined.
But back to BONES! Cammy once made a vid that I adored, and I know I’ve posted it here before (here it is again), and so when I asked, and she said yes, I was very happy. When I saw it, I cried. It’s just…yes. It’s how I feel. Thank you, Cammy!
Here’s the video, and be sure to give Cammy some nice comments in response!
